Primary industries for primary schools
If you eat fresh food, wear a pair of jeans, or put fresh milk
on your cereal then the primary industries are already important to
you.
The RNA Rural Discovery Day is a free educational day for primary
students and celebrates Queensland's primary industries. Students
milk cows, pot seeds, taste honey directly from a hive, discover
where their food comes from, talk to real farmers, and taste some
of the best produce Queensland has to offer.
RNA Chief Executive Jonathan Tunny describes Rural Discovery Day
as an opportunity to showcase primary industries to city students
with a unique hands-on learning experience.
"The event is an example of the RNA's commitment and support to
promoting Queensland's primary industries and the importance for
children to develop an understanding of where their food and fibre
comes from," Mr Tunny said.
